CIN stands for Cervical Intraepithelial Neoplasia. It refers to precancerous changes in the cells of the cervix.
It is not cancer
It affects only the surface layer of the cervix
It is usually detected through colposcopy and biopsy
Grading:
CIN 1: Mild changes
CIN 2: Moderate changes
CIN 3: Severe changes (highest risk)
The grade helps doctors decide the best treatment.
